Turnaround time, Shipping + other questions answered

J.A. Reel

TURNAROUND TIMES:   At the moment, all items listed only need finishing work to be completed and will ship in 0-7 business days (which will allow me time to do some final quality checks and finishing touches).  Occasionally when I am doing those final checks I will find a flaw in the product that makes it fail to meet Sweet Iris' strict quality control standards.  If I don't have another identical item in stock, I will contact you about how to proceed (sometimes offering a discount on a small flaw, or offering other similar items as a substitute).  For this reason it is important to...

Great Flat Diaper Folds to Google:

J.A. Reel

THE NEAT FOLD – This quick, comfy fold is aptly named because of the easy clean-up it offers. This fold has light-to-moderate absorbency through the wet zone similar to a Kite fold, and has an evenly trim look. Because there are fewer layers in the wet-zone, this fold may not be the best choice for babies who “flash-flood” their diapers nearly-instantly. THE DIAPER BAG FOLD or the ROSIE POSIE - If you are new to flats and have a heavy/fast wetter, these two very similar folds are a great place to start.   Both folds fit beautifully on a shelf or...

Diaper Sizing Information

J.A. Reel

Listed sizes are what you can expect after your diapers are washed and fully shrunk.  Remember, you don't need to have every size of Snug Bug to properly fit your baby.   Not at all! If you were picking only two sizes I would recommend choosing one size that was less than or equal to 23" and another size greater than or equal to 27".  SMALL: 20” square. (51 cm.) Offers the best fit for newborns. This size tends to be best appreciated in the first 3 months of baby’s life. It can be used padfolded or as a doubler thereafter, but the...

How to get a perfect fit

J.A. Reel

Make sure that your baby’s legs are straight before you secure the diaper. Give a nice strong pull on the wings of the diaper, upward and outward away from the baby. Maintain that tight tension and bring the wings into position to fasten. When you first fasten your baby’s diaper, fit it tighter than you think appears necessary. The fit will end up being perfect. Tuck or roll the fabric in once or twice around baby’s thighs as needed to secure the fit. After you’ve fastened the diaper, check to make sure the diaper fits snugly around baby’s waist and thighs. Make...

How to Prep your Snug Bugs

J.A. Reel

Don’t boil your diapers. Wash them at least once, preferably two or even three times before use using warm to hot water. Tumble dry. Your diapers may gain some absorbency with the subsequent half-dozen washes.
